Finals are tomorrow?!

I've been meaning to blog for quite some time but I never found the time to actually sit down and pen... or in this case... type my thoughts down. I honestly can't believe I'm already (almost) done with 1 full semester in uni...

Things have been a little hectic as of late. Finals are coming up (tomorrow actually) and I have so many upcoming plans that I legit can't remember at times... This shows how important a planer is. Gonna have to get one for 2016. Anyway, so the past few weeks has been pretty good with Halloween and Starry Night etc... Especially Starry! Enjoyed it so much with my Meta(baes) <- (omg, I just came up with this... I should tell them soon haha!)
Anyways, I guess after starting school, besides training with the emixers, the people that I have been spending a hell load of time with would be my Meta(baes). Okay obviously not EVERYONE in the group but well, a handfull at least. It's really comforting to know that I have these people to count on. Of course there are other people that I'm thankful for as well like Momo and Chingz... but they should already know that (:

I honestly can't wait for finals to be over. Honestly, this semester hasn't been too too crazy for me that I'm super stressed. Obviously there are crazy moments but it wasn't as if there was a heck load of em. I have a really bad feeling next semester will be worst. This semester, I'm taking 5 modules but I only have finals for 3 of em. But next sem... HOHOHO... 5 modules and 5 finals. Good luck to me. I honestly have no idea what made me take stats101 next sem... I guess I just hope some of my JC stuff is still somewhere hidden in the back of my brain.

Anyway, I have already been making so many plans with people for after finals hahaha, but honestly, I think most will cease to exist afterwards coz I'll be so busy. I mean, exams are ending on 2nd Dec and from 14-18 Dec I have Java course. Not to mention I think that my family would be travelling so... WOOHOO, goodbye holidays. But I can't wait for my Meta outing haha. They're intending to go for a karaoke session first before ladies night hahaha!!! SHHHH... But for what's worth, I just wanna relax hehehe. I admit I love uni life but I guess some me time wouldn't hurt haha!

Some movie updates... If you haven't seen Our Times, GO WATCH IT! I swear it's definitely worth the time spent! Even Bryan admitted that he felt a little soft after watching it and that means something haha! There are a few movies coming up that I really want to watch as well! But I guess we have to wait till after finals end. Anyway, to every uni student reading this, good luck for finals! Till next time guys....

Eurhythmix - my new found family

Honestly, I wasn't expecting much in the aspect of friendships when I came to SMU. Which might probably be the reason why I'm so happy in SMU. I know I've said this more than once, but I really do love uni life. Maybe it's just SMU but I love it. Of course there are stressful moments but let's face it. No matter where we go, we'll always be faced with stress. It's up to us how we handle it.
Anyway, as most of you should know by now, I got into Eurhythmix. It's a street dance crew in my school and trust me, it's awesome. I know our batch hasn't really gotten the chance to bond much but honestly, the people who performed for Hospice have definitely gotten closer and that's probably because we see each other 4 times a week or more.
Okay, before I get ahead of myself, Hospice is basically this charity event that Eurhythmix agreed to perform at. So most of us are freshies besides Wern Chieh and Raymond. Although one month is really not much time to put together a proper performance, I think we did pretty well... Here's the video...

It's amazing how much we've improved since the first training. I have always been so used to calling myself an athlete and in track, most of my events are individual events. To suddenly call myself a performer and having to perform as a crew is really a foreign feeling, but even so, I loved every single moment of it.
In Eurhythmix, I really see that sense of belonging amongst the seniors. Although it might seem a bit clique-y, when they're all together, the feels that you get from them is ridiculously awesome. I have no way of putting it into words. You've just gotta experience it yourself. The freshies are definitely not at that standard yet but we're definitely getting there hehe. I mean, with all the late night suppers... how could we not hahah. Goodbye abs training hahaha.

Anyway that's all for now I guess. I know this post is a little late, and short, and I'm sorry. It's just that with all the work I have, it's impossible to carve out time to blog haha. Everytime something happens, I tell myself, okay I should add that in my next blogpost, but it never comes and I eventually forget about it haha. But oh wells, it's life haha. Till next time guys <3

Kidleidoscope, FTB Run 2 and MetamorphoSIS

It has been quite some time since I've last posted.
So how have you guys been? It's been a crazy month filled with camps, dance practices and enrichment classes but school is finally starting... (17 August)
Pretty late compared to other Unis that start on 10 Aug or something.

Anyway the last time I posted was regarding Arts and Sports camp. So just an update, I went for 3 other camps afterwards. First was Kidleidoscope, followed by Freshman Team Building Camp and last but not least, MetamorphoSIS.
I'll explain what each of the camps are individually later on in the post.

Even though I haven't officially been inducted into SMU, I really do love the culture here in SMU. It was really the best choice I could have made for myself. No, I'm not saying that other Unis are bad or anything but personally, SMU is definitely the school for me. I've already attended enrichment classes for IS. (Yes I know, a bit no life... but what to do? JC student no coding background mah.) But anyways, the help that you get from the friends and seniors around in SIS is everything that I could ever ask for.

After all the many camps that I've joined, I got to know many friends and seniors. Friends not only from those in my group but others as well. It's so easy to make friends in SMU. I mean, just by going up to someone and saying "Hi, my name's ______. What's yours?", that person could easily be one of the closest friend you'll ever have.

If any of you are interested in coming to SMU, feel free to approach me to find out more or anything. I'll do my best to help you (:
So for now I'll skip all the ranting and fill you in on the camps.

Kidleidoscope 2015
So Kidleidoscope, or KScope for short, is basically a CSP camp. It focuses more on helping kids I guess as opposed to Inspirar which focuses more on helping the elderly.
So in SMU there's a requirement where you have to complete 80 hours of CIP within your 4 years. Honestly speaking most students would easily exceed the required amount.

Okay so anyway, I was in group 6 and being the crazy people we were, we called ourselved 6 pac. Over-achievers I know but what the heck, we're the Dream Team. And I'm not even exaggerating.
Let's start from Day 1. We basically met up at school and the games were held there. Nothing really exciting coz Day 1 is supposedly very chill. My group stayed over at LABS (SMU's 24hr building where students can study/sleep/eat... you get the point) on the first day coz KScope was a day camp but we were so onz so... yeah.
We didn't lose a single game on day 1! and all of us were so hyped that some other groups thought we were a bit aggressive. But I swear our group is just full of chill yet crazy people haha!

Oh right, one of the highlights of KScope was the tiedye and silkscreen tees. So we got a chance to make our own during camp(:

Valerie! And the photobomber Ryan at the back haha.

On to day 2. We had breakfast at Dhoby Macs before heading down to Sentosa. I swear I'm sick of Sentosa already... Sports Camp, Kscope and Meta all went Sentosa. I swear you cannot run away de haha.

So anyway, the day started off damn rabak already. All the games weren't chill at all. HAHA! If it were up to me, I would say that KScope Sentosa day was more rabz than Sports Camp. Maybe it's just me coz I didn't really put in a lot of effort in Sports Camp haha.

KScope there was this crazy game called Mua Chee. And it's ridiculous.
Basically you have to start of by soaking yourself in water and then running to the checkpoint. From there you have to lie down and start rolling. Your opponent has to do the same as well. But basically we start from two opposite ends. When the 2 meet they have to play scissors paper stone. Winner continues rolling until they meet another opponent or reaches the other checkpoint. The loser has to restart.
It was crazy I swear. You'll get dizzy, abrasions, and all kind of stuff from the game. Imagine rolling all the way to the end to meet another opponent and losing... Wah damn suay larh. But it was on the whole pretty fun.

Oh and did I mention we didn't lost a single game on day 2 as well? BEAT THAT!

So Day 3 is probably the most chill (thank god). After meeting in school and playing some damn chill games, we proceeded to make pencil toppers. Some kiddy stuff that kids made to make their pencils look cooler or some. The after that we basically went to rehearse for performance and create the costumes for our prince and princess.

So yeah on the whole, Kidleidoscope was definitely one of the best camps yet and I'll definitely be back to faci next year. If they accept me that is. To be honest, my group has to give credit to our facis as well. Our facis are crazy zai! If you're in SMU and you've joined enough camps I think you'll know why.

FTB Run 2 2015
So FTB is basically this compulsory camp that all Freshman have to go through. Most people have heard that it's pretty darn disgusting which is why most people try to find excuses not to go. But me bring the overly enthu camper obviously wanted to see it for myself.
So FTB was immediately after Kscope. Like immediately. Kscope was from 18-20th July and FTB was from 21-23 July. I swear I was damn shagged on the first day. Not sure if others realised but I was definitely not as RARA on the first day as compared to other camps. But I must say that my group wasn't too shabby (:

So just something interesting, on day 1, me beinga clumsy idiot, before the campfire even started, I went and sprained my ankle. Yes I was that stupid. I even blacked out for a moment and they used a stretcher to bring me to the First Aid Room. Like WTH, Damn sia suay.  But anyways, thanks to my amazing group mates for sticking with me the whole while. On a side note, I got to sleep on a bed in the first aid room on the first day haha.

With them KSCOPE peeps <3

So second day was basically games and all. The main highlight was at night definitely (: Performaces and the clubbing segment! Yes I know, what crazy uni would have a clubbing segment in their camp haha! Well, here ya go. The funny thing was by the clubbing session, you could already see me jumping around haha!!!! Even though I was with a sprained ankle. I guess it was from the 2 times I sprained my ankle before. Got so used to it hahaha!

Nothing much happened on the last day that was worth mentioning I guess. We finished up the couple dances and that was about it. We went home pretty early (thank god coz the night before me, Zi Wei, Jing Han and Izza totally didn't sleep haha!).

MetamorphoSIS 2015
I guess this was one of the important camps in my opinion. It was where we learnt much more about what we were going to study. It was where we met friends and seniors in the same course whom we're going to stay in school with. (people say that SIS is also known as "sleep in school" because our course is that "heavy-duty") But I must admit, META is filled with really nice people everywhere! Maybe you won't be able to click with everyone but they were kidding when they said that IS students are super helpful and friendly. I'm actually pretty proud of my group. We went from the shy group to the crazy group. And for that I'm really thankful.

And to anyone who thinks that IS is a course for nerds, think again! I'm definitely not a nerd HAHA. And I can vouch that there are really cool people here in IS.
I mean, just looking at my facis I can say for sure that they're not your typical nerds(: One of my facis is the best beat boxer for VOIX!! BEAT THAT! And 2 of my Kscope facis are from IS as well. And 1 is from Emix! You can't get any cooler hehe.

Kscope Facis again!

So I guess that's all for now guys, I know this was a really long post and I don't even know how many of you even bother reading till the end but if you did, THANK YOU TRUCK LOADS<3 much love xoxo.
Till next time (:
